MY ABC JOURNEY      2007

APRIL & MAY
ABC starts filming in Whitman NE on April 28, 2007 Kristina will be traveling to various states while filming and should complete filming by the second week in May.
APRIL 28, 2007

Well... I started my journey with ABC on Saturday... Tami, the producer, and Stu the Camera operator, are amazing, they are some of the coolest, most successful people I've ever met. And I can't believe I get to work with them!!! The Producer, Tamara & Stu the Camera Man were assigned to me I believe the Lord put them here with me. It was so awesome.. That's all I can say.  I could not have asked for a nicer day to do it. God was totally present as we filmed all day.

We started at 8:30 am by going to Emerson's Branding on Saturday, I sure appreciated them letting us film... Then we came back to the house in Whitman and started filming my music video! We shot music videos everywhere, from hay stacks, to bales of hay, to in the middle of a pasture, and on a horse. It was so exciting; I can definitely get use to this. Josh Cox, my friend and fellow writer was nice enough to come and play the guitar in the video. I performed “Holding My Father's Hands” lyrics by Josh Cox. That was so cool! We ended the day around 8pm... The actual adventure really started on Sunday.

APRIL 29
I started my connections with Sally Haythorn, from Ogallala, Ne; she was more than helpful. She thought her friend Lesley from Colorado Springs would be able to help me locate the person I was looking for. So we drove to Brush, Colorado and met Leslie. Leslie, who works for Mission of Mercy feeding Third World Countries, then told me she knows the one person who can actually hook me up with the woman I am trying to locate.  So Leslie, Stu, Tami and I all drove to Denver that night and hopped on an early flight to Nashville the next morning.

APRIL 30th
We met Dana at Sedona, her hair salon, she was a total sweet heart. She picked up the phone and called a beautiful young lady, Ali, who happens to be "this country star's personal assistant"... Couldn't get any better than that.
MAY 1

We drove to Ashlynn City, just outside of Nashville, to Ali's amazing home, where she told me she could definitely connect me to the person I needed to find. I was so excited!!! My producer surprised me by saying she was going to fly me and Ali to Atlanta, Georgia to this "performer's" concert on that Saturday night, back stage passes, meeting her, the works... so I guess it did get better... and it keeps on getting better and better.

I met with a lady by the name of Leslie Satcher, she is a professional songwriter who writes for Sony Music, and artists such as Martina McBride and Sara Evans, ect.. ABC said that we are to go back to Nashville on May 29 th to perform 2 songs by these songwriters on live TV. So I hung out with her all day, and picked two of her songs to perform. There's more to it, but you'll have to wait to find out the rest!!

TO BE CONTINUED....

2006    Nashville, TN

Hi everyone, wanted to share with you our trip to Nashville, TN!

When we arrived in Nashville we decided to take it easy for the day so we went to the mall and walked around for a few hours, of course that wasn't what my mom had in mind!   On the second day we went to the studio which is located right next door to Curb Records to begin recording.   One of the highlights on the trip was meeting award winning writer, Bobby Tomerlin when he stopped by the studio.  He writes for Curb Records and one of the songs he is known for ‘One More Day’ that Diamond Rio performed.

I was fortunate enough that he had come by in time to hear me perform one of his songs called, "That's What Your Loves Like".  I also recorded another song he co-wrote called, "Me, myself & I".  He is a really nice guy and he really liked what he heard.

Nashville Pics!

We were able to complete the recording in 2 days, it was such a good experience and I can't wait to go back!   Robbie Wittkowski, Producer, and Musician/Engineer Larry Merritt of Kid Kody Records made it easy and are so fun to work with.   He said that a lot of times people come in to record and end up sounding like the demo.  He really liked how I took his song and made it my own!  They made it go smoothly and I really appreciated all their hard work on this project.   Larry Merritt even played the harmonica in the song, "Take Your Number And Get Out".  Once we completed the recording we went to the Printing Press to work on the cd cover, we got it finished it in no time.

The next day we went down to Music Row and sat in and listened to a few bands play.  Each building has a story to tell, there is so much history down there.  I do think we spent most of our time though driving around lost!  Of course we couldn't miss the Grand Ole Opry!  It was at the Ryman Auditorium, which is the original location, and saw quite a few acts. It's a 2 hour show and the first hour or so is still on the radio after 80 years or more!

Another highlight was being able to watch people like Jimmy Dickens, Bill Anderson, and Pam Tillis perform on the same stage where Patsy Cline, Hank Williams Sr., and Minnie Pearl performed.   Newcomer George Canyon also performed; he was runner up on last years Nashville Star.  Being there gave me a new sense of purpose and another goal to work for; I know someday I will perform at the Grand Ole Opry!

Well, that was a great trip; thanks for letting me share it with you!  And thank you so much for all my sponsors and fans for all the help in getting down there and making the cd!!

Always Kristina
